TikTok engagement rate calculator
Work out a TikTok engagement rate by views, the way creators usually quote it, or by followers. Load a public profile to fill in the basics, then add one video’s numbers.
Rate by views or rate by followers: which to quote
On TikTok most viewers aren’t followers, because videos travel through the For You feed. So the rate creators and brands usually quote is engagement by views: likes, comments and shares on a video divided by its views. The rate by followers is still useful for comparing accounts, but it swings wildly when a single video goes far beyond your audience. This calculator gives you both whenever you add views.
Getting the numbers
- Views, likes, comments and shares show under each video. Average your last ten, leaving out any extreme outlier.
- Followers are on the profile.
- The profile loader estimates likes per video from lifetime likes divided by videos. It’s a rough figure; your own averages are better.
One coffee cart, both rates, worked through
A Brooklyn coffee cart averages 4,000 views, 320 likes, 14 comments and 9 shares across its last ten videos and has 8,500 followers. By views: 343 ÷ 4,000 × 100 = 8.58%, comfortably normal. By followers: 343 ÷ 8,500 × 100 = 4.04%. If it added a 1,000-follower pack, the rate by views wouldn’t change at all, which is one reason TikTok buyers focus on credibility rather than metrics. More on that in the For You page guide.
Checking likes before a TikTok likes order
If you’re thinking about TikTok likes, enter the video’s views and current likes plus the pack. If the result goes far above 15–20% of views, the video would look odd; choose a smaller pack or a video with more views.
